Movie Reviews
The Scorch Trials
Goosebumps

As most of you are aware, The Scorch Trials has just recently been released. I saw the movie opening night and might I add that it was nothing like the book. This may actually come to a shock for a lot of you, but it's really no surprise considering that most movies based on books aren’t accurate to the paper it's originally printed on. Before you return your tickets for the movie, let me just say the movie wasn’t the best, but it wasn't the worst. I highly recommend seeing it.

As for movies coming out in October, there aren't quite a lot. Your favorite kids, horror book series, Goosebumps, is finally getting a full length movie. Most of us remember that old, cheesy TV show they had back in the days and that terrifying puppet. This movie will be containing all of the monsters from all of R.L Stine’s famous novel. Any Joeseph Gordon Levitt fans out there? If so, you're in luck. The next movie, based on real life events, involves a high wire walker from France, Philippe Petit, who attempts to walk across the World Trade Center building in 1974. It may not seem exciting, but the real challenge appears in the form of him having to do it illegally. Not to mention, the wire he has to walk is almost 1,776 feet in the air!

The Divergent Series

From hearing about this book, it seems a little much if you know what I mean. What I don’t understand is why that in every Dystopian novel (the government takes over, and rebels band together to save the city, state, and or country. The protagonist goes through a bunch of life changing stuff, anyway.) The main character is always getting targeted to be killed. In my mind, all I can think is, “Man what did these people do wrong?” and “Why is everyone trying to kill them all the time?”

Overall this book is 4.5 out of a 5 star rating, on most of the websites I’ve seen. Anyway, Tris/Beatrice Prior is put in the position where she has to pick over her family, or what she wants to do in the future. In this crazy, alternate reality, she picks this extremist  group of rebels called dauntless (where they almost kill her like a thousand times). Anyway, did I mention that there is actually something not really that crazy? Of course, a love story! What great book doesn't have one (in Twilight, let’s not forget about how Edward Cullen told Bella about how fascinating her sleeping is to him). Moving on, this guy named Four/Tobias Eaton teaches her a bunch of tricks to protect herself. Not fully realizing it, he starts to fall head over heels for her. Anyway, she has to pick against her true love or herself. Who hasn’t heard this story before? I’ll let you think for a second (Jeopardy song playing in your head). If you were thinking Hunger Games, you guessed it right my friend. It’s pretty much the exact same thing, except more complicated (said in the words of the Amazon review guy. He gave it 1 star,). Anyways, that was the 8th grade recommendation. Even though you probably already read it.
